Buletin Ekonomi Kreatif dan Kewirausahaan (BEKK) (Bulletin of Creative Economy and Entrepreneurship) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the intersection of creative economics, cultural innovation management, and strategic entrepreneurship (creativepreneurship). Positioned as a premier scholarly forum for the development of idea-based and intellectual property-driven industries, the bulletin serves economists, entrepreneurship scholars, creative industry practitioners, start-up developers, and economic and tourism policymakers worldwide. BEKK prioritizes high-impact empirical research, econometric modeling of the creative industries, evaluations of creative Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) ecosystems, and in-depth case studies on the commercialization of art, culture, and technology. By synthesizing fundamental economic theory with the dynamics of human creativity, aesthetic value creation, and business model innovation, the bulletin fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how the creative economy acts as a new engine for inclusive, globally competitive, and sustainable economic growth.

Scope and Topics
Reflecting its mandate to advance the study of the creative economy and innovation-driven entrepreneurship, the bulletin welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic literature reviews, empirical field studies, and business model evaluations within the following thematic areas:
  • Creative Industry Subsector Management & Cultural Commercialization: Business development and governance across diverse creative subsectors (culinary arts, fashion, crafts, design, performing arts, music, photography, and publishing) as well as the transformation of indigenous wisdom into high-value economic products.
  • Creative Entrepreneurship (Creativepreneurship) & Business Dynamics: New venture creation and incubation in the creative sector, business model innovation, creative talent management and leadership, co-creation strategies, and the resilience and scaling-up of creative MSMEs.
  • Digital Creative Economy, New Media & Intellectual Property (IP): Digital content monetization, application and interactive game development, animation and film industries, Intellectual Property (IP) management and valuation, and the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on creative works.
  • Creative Marketing, Branding & Consumer Behavior: Branding strategies and visual communication design, storytelling marketing, the experience economy, social commerce utilization, and trend analysis of lifestyle consumer behavior.
  • Creative Economy Ecosystems, Financing & Public Policy: Development of creative cities and hubs, intellectual property-based (IP-based) financing schemes, creative venture capital and crowdfunding, creative tourism integration, and multi-stakeholder (hexa-helix) institutional synergy in creative economy regulation.
Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the timely dissemination of creative economy and entrepreneurship research, BEKK is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on the commercialization of local intellectual property, digital technology disruption in the creative industries, or post-crisis creative enterprise resilience may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
BEKK enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and empirical validity across creative economics and entrepreneurship management disciplines.
  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness (economic analytical rigor, qualitative case study depth, market/industry data accuracy, or conceptual logic), and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the bulletin's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are established academic researchers, creative industry economists, or entrepreneurship strategy specialists in the relevant domain.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on intellectual merit, methodological clarity, and the potential for tangible impact on the creative economy and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
