Scope and Topics
Reflecting its mandate to advance the study of innovation within government administration, the bulletin welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic literature reviews, comparative institutional studies, and applied administrative evaluations within the following thematic areas:

Public Sector & Administrative Innovation: Institutionalization of government innovation programs (e.g., Inovasi Pelayanan Publik), public sector innovation labs, regulatory sandboxes, administrative process re-engineering, and the diffusion of best practices across government agencies.

GovTech, Digital Government & Smart Administration: Electronic-based government systems (Sistem Pemerintahan Berbasis Elektronik), integration of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and big data in state administration, automated bureaucratic workflows, and smart city/village administrative ecosystems.

Agile Bureaucracy, Leadership & Organizational Change: Transitioning from rigid hierarchies to agile and dynamic governance, transformational and innovative public leadership, intrapreneurship within the civil service (Manajemen ASN), and fostering an innovation-friendly bureaucratic culture.

Public Service Co-Creation & Citizen-Centric Design: Application of design thinking in government, co-creation and co-production of public services with citizens, civic technology (CivicTech) integration, and inclusive administrative solutions for marginalized communities.

Regional, Local & Collaborative Innovation Ecosystems: Sub-national and municipal government innovations, village administration modernization (inovasi pemerintahan desa), multi-stakeholder (penta-helix) collaborative governance, and green administrative practices for sustainable development.

Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the timely dissemination of government administration and innovation research, BIAP is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on AI-driven bureaucratic transformation, agile governance during public crises, or grassroots administrative innovations in local governments may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.
